I ordered a three-piece knife block for over 100 Swiss francs. When the delivery arrived, I was horrified to discover it was far too small for my knives. I didn't even need to unpack it completely to see that. I was glad that Supermagnete has a (seemingly) generous return policy. I called them. They told me to send it back in the original packaging, and they would refund me. So I did. Two days later, the friendly lady called me again and informed me that the knife block was completely scratched. They couldn't take it back. How could that be? I had briefly pulled one piece out of the box and put it back in. That means the piece had only touched the cardboard and the Styrofoam. I included a photo as proof, showing the open packaging and a nasty scratch across two pieces. They offered to "generously" refund half the amount... no way! I arranged for the item to be returned to me, which was done promptly. I opened the packaging and, to my surprise, didn't see a scratch. Only when I used a strong flashlight and shone it from the side did I see the same picture that had been sent to me. Therefore, I couldn't see the scratch at all when I first opened it. How many customers were this knife block sent to, and they were all charged half the retail price? The packaging certainly didn't look new. To me, this borders on fraud. Anyway, the knife block is now in my kitchen for the small knives that used to be in the drawer... without a single visible scratch.
