Hausgemachtes Essen. Schöne Aussicht. Nichts Besonderes, aber das ist der Charme.
Freundliches Personal, herzhaftes Essen und toll mit Kindern
Vermeiden Sie diese Ranch, sie ist zu gefährlich. Besonders für Kinder!
We arrived at 1:30 PM and asked if it would be possible to have a drink with one of the charcuterie boards offered by the restaurant. The cook/waiter told us, in a nonchalant and barely perceptible tone, that he didn't have time to prepare it and that it took longer than creating a full menu. I was unpleasantly surprised by such behavior. If he had said it differently, it would have been understandable, and we would have gladly waited. It's a shame because I would have liked to discover what he offered. It seemed like excellent local cuisine. But I won't be returning because such a poor reception put me off.
Simply beautiful 🤩 Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great, but it's very quiet there, so you can really relax. The downside is that there's almost no cell reception! But whatever 😐 …
Guests are clearly not welcome here: I walked up for 1.5 hours, checked the internet and website beforehand, and arrived just over an hour before the 5 p.m. closing time. No drinks or menus available. After more than five minutes of asking, I still don't know if a meal is available, as I'm told that the kitchen isn't actually open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The landlady refers me to the innkeeper/chef standing right next door. My question about whether a cold platter is available in that case goes unanswered. The landlady explicitly refuses to give me the menu "so as not to raise false expectations." The innkeeper ignores me at first and then, annoyed, says there's only a roasted egg. I definitely don't want to linger in such an atmosphere; this isn't a guesthouse. I walk back down to the valley - never again Scheidegger Ranch! Why run a restaurant (according to the website) if guests are a nuisance? Incidentally, the menu will soon be shut down and is out of date. People are more likely to be called rude when they ask about a lack of information. If you're going to criticize your guests for their long 16-hour days, maybe you'd be better off focusing on livestock farming.
