Überraschenderweise das beste Essen, das wir eine Woche lang in der Stadt gegessen haben. Klar, draußen in der Nachmittagssonne ein Bier zu trinken hat Spaß gemacht, aber die wahren Geheimnisse liegen drinnen beim Abendessen. Jede unserer Mahlzeiten war fantastisch – sowohl in der Präsentation als auch (was noch wichtiger ist) im Geschmack.

Leider stellten sich einige der negativen Bewertungen zu einem bestimmten Server als wahr heraus. Als Einzelgast wurde ich herablassend behandelt, während mir auffiel, dass derselbe Kellner einer größeren Gruppe gegenüber eine ganz andere enthusiastische Einstellung zeigte. Er hatte sogar den Mut, am Ende um ein Trinkgeld zu bitten. Selten in der Schweiz. Das Essen war in Ordnung. Meine zwei Sterne verdanke ich vor allem der perfekten Lage des Restaurants neben dem Bahnhof Wengen. Ich würde es nicht empfehlen, es gibt bessere Möglichkeiten in Wengen.

Wir wollten ein traditionelles Rösti essen und wurden von dem, was wir bekamen, nicht enttäuscht. Die Rösti waren herrlich, genauso wie der Nachtisch. Der Service war bei unserer Ankunft und an unserem Tisch sehr freundlich, obwohl er während unseres gesamten Besuchs nicht besonders „aufmerksam“ war. Dies störte uns jedoch nicht, da wir es nicht eilig hatten. Einen Besuch wert.

This place deserves more good reviews. I had my first Swiss beef Zurich style and their mushroom risotto and I tell you it's not missing any flavors.. I love every bit of them and cleaned the plate... the beef plate had this hashbrown potato and its cooked to perfection with the crunchiest crust you'll ever have but not burned... the risotto has an aldente rice with the best mushroom flavor punch. Service is great!!

After multiple trips to Europe this was the first time ever my husband and I faced open racism. Went here twice trying to just have a quick drink and snack. The first time we were turned away saying they are closed despite the place being visibly open and other guests walking in, they didn’t even ask if we just wanted a drink or were interested in ordering from their kitchen menu which might not have been operating at that time. The server told us to come back at 6. We could see other people being served beers and coffees and we were speaking and even an hour later when we walked by. When we came back at 6pm we were this time again let into the restaurant by another man and the man looks at us and says sorry we’re fully booked. Didn’t bother asking if one of those reservations was ours. There is a clear racial element in play. It was one of the most insulting experiences. After only the most positive experiences throughout Switzerland this place soured the entire thing. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place like the plague. Every other restaurant in the vicinity in Wengen has been a delight.
