I have never written a review for a hardware store but von Moos will be the exception due to exceptional service. I was visiting Lucerne at the start of a much anticipated week long Switzerland photography tour when my camera strap broke. The fasteners had just worn out from a lot of use. I had a hunch it could be fixed with the right hardware which brought me to von Moos. Upon arrival in the hardware department I was greeted in English (thank you) where I explained my situation. I was quickly introduced to Sasha who looked at my strap & without hesitation took on the task of repairing the fasteners. After nearly a half hour of trying many different approaches we had to admit it was a lost cause and give up. Even though we were unsuccessful, Sasha’s enthusiasm, commitment & courtesy to an unknown tourist was simply impressive. Thank you. Btw, I was able to buy a new camera strap at a nearby camera shop.

Without doubt, the best store I have been to in Switzerland! The highlight is the staff, highly educated and knowledgeable, and super friendly. They also have a great and varied assortment of bau & hobby items, and also sports! I'm always happy to go!

There was one older white woman with shorter hair who was very rude. She had no problem helping other Caucasian patrons in full fluent English (I had literally just saw and heard her have a full blown conversation with the patrons ahead of me) but once I went to the counter for help, she tried to redirect me “to a tourist spot” and when I tried to ask more questions, she pretended like she couldn’t speak English. For reference, I am a person of colour. That staff member needs training on how to coexist with other races besides her own. I didn’t know it was so hard for some people to know how to treat people with kindness. 🙄🙄 would not recommend unless you want to be discriminated against just because of the colour of your skin. 🙄

Took time to look around. Wow, awesome store. They have so much under one roof. Very helpful staff. Will visit more often. Great products!

An interesting store with several levels. Came in looking for hobby things for my wife which is in the basement level. Nice selection of items including things I have trouble finding throughout the rest of Europe.
