I am very grateful to have been able to attend the Beatenberg Institute for six years. This time had a profound impact on me, not only academically but also personally. I made valuable friendships there, learned a great deal, and had unforgettable experiences. The institute was like a second home to me, and I will never forget the shared moments, excursions, and togetherness. Thank you for everything!
A thoroughly positive school year for our son! After two frustrating years at a state secondary school, we found the Beatenberg Institute. Even the first visit was impressive, both in terms of location and the entire team. We received friendly and relaxed advice, and our son was offered a trial week. After this week, it was clear to all of us that this was the right place! ALL the staff at the Beatenberg Institute are dedicated, friendly, supportive, genuinely interested in the children's well-being, and, last but not least, very humorous. Thank you!!! As part of an excursion week, we, as participants in the European Seminar Gießen, visited innovative educational institutions in Switzerland. We were particularly impressed by the Beatenberg Institute, which captivated us with its outstanding pedagogical and didactic concept. We would also like to emphasize the friendliness, high level of competence, and warm personality of the staff. These impressions align with our vision of a contemporary school in the 21st century. Furthermore, the learning tasks developed at the Beatenberg Institute sparked our curiosity and inspire us to rethink and enrich our own teaching practices.
We are deeply grateful that our boys were able to attend this boarding school (between 2018 and 2023). They learned many essential life skills there: personal responsibility, constructive conflict resolution, and organizational skills. Crucial to this was the close relationship with their personal coach, as well as the overall positive atmosphere at the school. Both successfully transitioned from the Beatenberg Institute to apprenticeships or secondary school after their time there.
At first, I didn't want to go to school there for long, but in the end, I often wished it would stay that way forever. The air of the Bernese mountains is just right for a young person's experience, even if the agricultural landscape sometimes spoils this idyllic setting. You can admire the beautiful mountain scenery directly from the school building. The Beatenberg Institute is an excellent academic setting for becoming independent and ready for an apprenticeship. All "homework" is done during the week at the institute. If you have questions or concerns, you can see your own coach or ask other teachers for help. The institute also offers a wide range of leisure activities. There's almost always something going on in the evenings. This can range from a small tournament to a short excursion. Students are also allowed to help with the planning. I spent a total of 2.5 years at the Beatenberg Institute, and my experience was very positive; I highly recommend it.
