We stayed at the hotel that is attached to this restaurant. If you’re in the area you must make the trip to try any of the many choices on this menu! You will not be disappointed! The food was authentic and delicious. The ingredients are fresh & portions large, so come hungry! Service was outstanding, quick, & the owners were there serving and chatting with patrons. It was a relaxed & fun atmosphere where anyone would have a great time with family, friends, dates or solo. I can’t say enough positive things about this place and experience.
Such a nice and cozy restaurant. We didn't have a reservation but they fitted us in. The food was authentic and delicious! They are very generous with the rostï portion. I love the farmer sausage dish. The white wine fondue was a nice addition. Good selection of Swiss beer as well. Also getting here is not easy for tourist ! It's up the hill and you just have to drive carefully and be mindful. But otherwise the view outside of this restaurant is breathtaking ! They do take card but cash preferred.
Outstanding. Fantastic service and brilliant local dishes. I'd like to emphasize that it's local because you won't find steaks, pizza, pasta, or similar dishes from outside the region. However, there's fantastic pork steak with rosti, fondue, raclette, and a variety of sausages served in various ways. The service is incredibly friendly and the view of the lake and neighboring Brienz is absolutely exceptional. Reservations may be necessary during peak season. We managed to get in from the street around 6 p.m., but every table had a reservation for 7 and 8 p.m. We'd love to come back. A great restaurant.
Great food, great view, great atmosphere. What more could you ask for. Helpful staff, helped us with picking the right food not to overeat ourselves. The road to restaurant is quite funny as well. The goulash was great with good bread. Rösti was delicious, steak was cocked a little too much but was tasty. Bratwurst was good with great onion sauce, Kartofel salad was a just little too salty. Foundee was tasty with a lot of bread pieces to eat it :) Best part was the Nesselrode for the dessert, it was very tasty and the portion was surprisingly big! Great end of the evening!!
Delicious food. Friendly staff. Great location (parking free and has around 10 spaces). Very cosy environment. Amazing Swiss 🇨🇭 Experience. Perfectly-sized portions. Recomendable and will definitely return soon! Recommended Dishes: Rösti Natural, Raclette and Goulash
We had a lovely experience at a this cozy Swiss restaurant overlooking the stunning Brienz Lake. The view alone is worth the visit: calm waters framed by majestic mountains, creating a serene and picturesque backdrop for a meal. It seems to be a family-owned place, and that warmth really comes through in the service. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We ordered the raclette, and it was absolutely delicious—rich, comforting, and served with all the traditional accompaniments. It’s clear they take pride in their food and presentation. One thing to note: the kitchen closes quite early, at 8 PM, so it’s best to plan ahead if you’re hoping for a late dinner. Prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the location. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience with great food, kind service, and unbeatable views. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Brienz area!
