About 13 years ago, Bosshard Söhne AG completely replaced the roof of our single-family home. We were very satisfied for about 11 years until we started experiencing water ingress. A Bosshard employee inspected the roof and was speechless. He discovered several construction defects and had no idea how to fix them. Among the defects identified were the following: - The roof covering (Swisspearl) is not approved for our roof pitch; Due to capillary action, a lot of water flows onto the underlayment (see photos) - The panels should not have been installed because they are not approved due to the roof pitch (Bosshard Söhne AG apparently was unaware of this). - The panels absorb a lot of water, are very brittle, and have numerous cracks. - The underlayment is the wrong type for our roof and is not approved (Bosshard Söhne AG apparently was unaware of this). - In several places, the covering is not completely sealed, and rain is directly penetrating the underlayment. - The underlayment is cut too short at the ends and not adequately glued, allowing water to penetrate the insulation. - The insulation is soaked, and condensation is forming inside the building. - Many screws on the exterior cladding are loose, or the wood behind it has been missed. - The ventilation inlets are approximately 6 cm in diameter, while the outlet opening at the gable is only approximately 1.5 cm. The hot air can't escape, and moisture builds up. Mr. Bosshard was contacted by phone exactly three times over the past 1.5 years. There were no suggestions for solutions, no callbacks, and no responses to email inquiries. Promised callbacks never arrived. During this time, buckets of water were and still are standing in our house. The construction defects described above were immediately identified by every other company I asked for a quote. This raises some questions about the expertise of Bosshard Söhne AG. We feel let down by the company and now have to commission other companies for a complete renovation, which will again result in costs of approximately CHF 70,000. The removal of all defective building materials alone (Bosshard Söhne AG) costs CHF 16,000. We are left with the costs and have to pay for everything ourselves. When confronted with this entry, Mr. Bosshard simply said that he understood my point. That was the end of the matter for him. We would definitely not entrust Bosshard Söhne AG with a project again.
Dear Bosshard Team, Thank you so much for the high-quality work you did on our roof in Wiler in autumn 2024 installing our PV system! We really appreciated the excellent communication, flexibility, consideration of our special requests, and top-notch quality! We are very satisfied :-) Best regards, The Müller Family
