What a spectacular view! It seems surreal. It's good for hiking and accessible by car. It’s known for the highest lift in Europe! 😊Would recommend it, and yes! One way up with the lift costs 15sfr for an adult, but it’s worth it to be on top and see incredible scenery! Amazing!!

The elevator ride itself is brief but exciting, especially for those with a fear of heights. It has glass walls, providing panoramic views as you ascend. The top of the elevator offers a viewing platform with incredible vistas. You can also hike further along the ridge for even more spectacular viewpoints. The elevator ride is short, and the self-service restaurant at the top is basic. Factor this in when considering the price of the ticket. Alternatively, the walk from the Bürgenstock Resort is about 2.1 km one way. It's an easy path that's suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. However, there's also a more scenic option called the Felsenweg (Cliff Path) which is a bit steeper and not stroller-friendly. If you're looking for a leisurely stroll with beautiful lake views, the main path is the way to go. If you're short on time or want a more adventurous route, the Felsenweg might be a better choice. Just be aware that it might be more of a challenging route.

This is a must-visit on a nice day. The view is astonishing, almost like it is from a different world. We parked at the Parkplatz Bürgenstock Honegg and walked to Bürgenstock, ca 45 min Take the walk alongside to the Hammetschwand, the longest outside lift in Europe. The walk is already fantastic, but the going up and the clear view are breathtaking. Above you can have small snacks, pasta or cervelat salads and coffee, before you can take the direct walk back down, ca 45 min again to parkplatz Honegg.

What a place to build an elevator. The 1 minute ride suspended in the air is a real experience. Top and bottom are reachable from Bürgenstock by hiking trail (bottom is the easier one). If you have time, continue along the bottom path to enjoy the spectacular Felsenweg.

From the main entry point - about 30 min walk. A hidden gem of Swiss engineering and Alpine thrill. Built in 1905, the Hammetschwand Elevator is the highest outdoor lift in Europe, rising 152.8 meters (501 feet) in under a minute. Originally powered by water pressure and later electrified, it’s a remarkable piece of early 20th-century innovation. The ride offers breathtaking vertical views of Lake Lucerne and the surrounding peaks. Accessible via the scenic Felsenweg Cliff Walk from the Bürgenstock Resort, the lift is a must-do for history lovers, architecture buffs, or anyone looking for that perfect panoramic moment. Seasonal operation, so check hours in advance — but absolutely worth the detour. Lift price is €18 round trip although you can go one way and then walk from the top back to the resort - takes 40 min. There is a restaurant at the top.

On a rainy, cloudy day we chose to visit/hike-up to this place. Was worth it!☆ Nice view, amazing green forrest 💚 We weren't the only one ;) The tower is worth to use with its elevator if you hike from a nearby hotel of Burgenstock and walk down on a different path! We came from the hotel villa Honegg's parking lot.
