Our team at the University of Cambridge and ETH Zurich has been working with Impaxio for the last 18 months to conduct WhatsApp surveys with participants in our Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) of a training programme to promote pro-environmental behaviours by palm oil farmers in Indonesia. We are also using the Impaxio web platform to send training reminders and updates to participants by SMS. Michael and Matthias, Impaxio's co-founders, are an absolute pleasure to work with. They are highly experienced in conducting mobile surveys with farmers participating in field experiments in resource-poor settings. They are also highly responsive and have provided excellent advice on the design and delivery of our surveys. We opted for Impaxio's "Full Service" rather than "Self Service" option, which means we distribute our surveys with Michael and Matthias' ongoing support. The delivery of the surveys has been near-flawless. Michael and Matthias are always willing to go the extra mile to support us and we are delighted with the productive working relationship we have with them. For advice and support with conducting research with mobile phone-based surveys in agricultural, economic development, or conservation contexts, we can give Impaxio the highest possible recommendation. Thank you Michael and Matthias for your fantastic support.
Impaxio is run by academics. But don't be mislead - they really know how things are done in the global South and have a good network of local partners. They are also good on taking you through the design part of the research. Clear recommendation!
