This may be a skihut in winter but it is much more in spring, summer and autumn. A large terrace, a good selection of delicious food and drink - and a special selection of home made cakes and pies. Most of all a warm friendly atmosphere and magnificent views. While you can’t drive your car there, there are 4-5 buses a day - and very special paths to hike in or out. They have rooms to stay which we heard are cozy- but while we have eaten there many times we have not stayed overnight
I had an early lunch on the morning of Monday, August 19th. I was hiking the Via Alpina and this day’s stage was from Elm to Linthal. It was overcast and drizzling for much of the 3 hour hike from Elm to the hut. Sarah or Zarah welcomed me in the hut and was very friendly. She offered a great carrot soup with bread and it hit the spot, warming me up before the final push to Richetlipass. Thank you for all you do to make tourists feel welcome in your country.
Very hospitable people and good place to stay (try their tea!) Also a great location to start or end a trip with a bus stop right outside the hut.
Nice hut with good food. Nice location for touring and snowshoeing. Only reachable with touring ski or snowshoes in the winter. The way up is beautiful and not to tough.
After a walk from elm to ski hut we got some refreshing. Hut seems to be operated by a family, kids are helping. Nice Ambiente, great view.
Lovely place with friendly staff and reasonable prices for food. Make sure to call before you visit during winter, I snow shoed up there once and the hut was closed unexpectedly and without any notice on their website.
