The Triftbrücke bridge is a fantastic spot, and basically the endpoint of the route as the path to the hut is closed. The far end of the bridge in fact was roped off. Beautiful glacial lake, a glacier that’s sadly receding. I had the thought of hiking down but for those trying to hike up from the base station be warned that there are many parts with exposed drops and may be quite dangerous
Amazing view of valley all the way from the cable car to the bridge. And spectacular view of the bridge and lake, and what left from glacier. Sadly, but glacier almost gone. Directions says you need 1h30min to get to the bridge. For me it took ~55 minutes to reach the bridge. But I was taking a lot of pictures on the way there. The trail is about 3km long, but you need to climb ~350m up. So it depends on your fitness how long it takes.
I went out from parking and it took me about 2,5 hours to get this bridge. There is a possibility of taking cable car, but I didn’t use it. It’s definitely the biggest “hike” bridge I’ve ever been on. The combination with a lake and glaciers around is unbelievable magnificent. There are some another trail which can be walked up, but if you’re planning to go to Trifthütte, you have to change your plans. Because the trail is closed approximately until 2027. I will come back, it was one of the best view I’ve seen.
Amazing suspension bridge You can hike from the parking lot or take the gondola - Gondola definitely book in advance not many places are available - Hike from gondola is still a smoderate 1.5h hiking train!
A place of strength. Personally, for me, the main thing is the view of the lake and the glacier, not the bridge. For hiking enthusiasts, I recommend going up without a lift, there are two ways up, T2 and T3
This hike is starting with steep elevation. Requires good fitness or walk slowly catching your breath. For morst fit people you can make an additional round by the bridge there you got to hold on the chains. Only in good weather conditions.
