Awesome place, well worth a special visit! Exquisite craftsmanship in every room, amazing history. The founder was a mercenary for the French Kings and amassed a lot of wealth. The staff here are really friendly, and it is well kept. Many thanks to the town for preserving this wonderful place. Very hard to find parking, you need to park on the street someplace.
I'm just in love with this museum...it has different themes and that's what makes this museum so interesting with so many educational information. Most importantly the lady at the reception was so friendly.
Very friendly and helpful staff, but not many of them spoke English being so far away from most tourist areas. Understandable. English speaking visitors will for sure use their Google translate apps and translate the plaques and information around the displays. The palace itself is absolutely amazing. Remarkable craftsmanship went into every room and it is well worth the drive to see the museum and the town, day-to-day Switzerland of yesteryear and today. The garden is very well kept so taking a walk out back is well worth it as well. Parking is tough, you may or may not be able to park in the courtyard.
Tip top.
Impressive historic building. Uniquely visible on the main street. Other buildings worth seeing are located in the immediate vicinity... (Collage 4-5). Copyright by BH/ZG 2025
A very interesting place to visit; it's worth taking a look inside and learning more about our history.
