We had an amazing experience with a lot of warmth and hospitality. We were a group of 10, including children and elderly people and we were very well taken care off. First of all - congrats to be so innovative and establish such a great concept! The ride was nice, cheese fantastic and everyone was very friendly ! I read some previous reviews here and I have to say, its ridiculous to judge because you don't like carriages or you think a horse needs a blanket. Please rate the service and the product and leave your opinions out. Service and products was clearly 5 stars! Thank you!
Very nice ride and delicious cheese.
The German boss (Ulli Hurschler) is the most unprofessional, unfriendly, and personally insulting person I've ever experienced on the phone. I politely asked over the phone if the trip could be postponed for four days (e.g., for an additional charge) due to the severe storms and thunderstorms, as I had 90-year-old grandparents and an infant with me (we would have absolutely understood a polite NO and would have paid double for the trip, as it was a family gift and money played a secondary role in this case). Instead, I was unkindly insulted and mocked. She postponed the appointment despite her contradictory behavior (so why did she insult me?). On the new date, my wife and I took the day off and picked up my grandparents (about an hour's drive). But the carriage ride never arrived. Ulli had booked our trip for other guests. After consulting Ulli over the phone, I was again aggressively insulted and extremely unprofessionally put off for her mistake. It was difficult to drown out her shouting. She called me a typically (stupid) "German" and picky, even though she's actually the German one and I'm Swiss (I speak fluent High German in addition to Swiss German and had simply adapted to her High German). She came up with excuses like: "de hetti, und de wetti,... blah blah, she's not interested!" After several minutes of her loud, insulting shouting on the phone, we agreed to my suggestion that she buy us a coffee until her coachman was free again (an hour later). This meant we had to cancel our subsequent dinner reservation at the restaurant, since the whole carriage ride and meal had been intended as a joint Christmas present. In the end, instead of 150 Swiss francs, we were only charged 102 Swiss francs (48 Swiss francs for coffee and cake with a receipt) (to the franc!). Unfortunately, such unprofessional behavior and the bad aftertaste in this case cannot be compensated for with money. The entire phone call was played on speakerphone, and the whole family heard everything. Finally, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the coachman. It's not his fault. He did an exceptionally good job, acted very professionally, and deserved every tip! I hope Ulli doesn't treat him like that!
Dear Sir or Madam, My daughter gave me a carriage ride with your company for Christmas. As I am a huge horse lover (I have a master's degree in horse breeding and have bred horses myself for 30 years), this gift was a great joy for me. Added to that was the beautiful ambiance of the winter landscape in Engelberg. But one thing made me very sad!!! If we're honest, it's the horses who do the main work, and since the prices are actually reasonable, I don't understand why these creatures are your last priority?!? Aside from the unsuitable harnesses and bridles, your employees aren't even able to put a blanket on the horse(s) during the break when tourists get on and off. It's bad enough that they have to pull the carriage with pneumatic tires in these road conditions, one of which is almost flat!?! I would like to ask you, for the sake of the horses, to recognize and abolish these abuses!!! Sincerely, Eileen and Karin Fischer
Thank you for the lovely carriage ride! 💫 Although I already know Engelberg, the ride gave me a new perspective on the village. A very competent and friendly driver! 😍 The turning maneuver with the two-horse team impressed us all. 🤩 …
It's a disgrace that this is still allowed today! Horse-drawn carriages are already banned in many cities worldwide. Only in Switzerland is the animal welfare law stuck in the 19th century. Do some research! Unfortunately, zero stars isn't an option…
