Still here and exactly as described in previous posts. Rene wasn't there when we dropped by but his dad was and let us in to buy a few beers. Fantastic hidden gem in Lauterbrunnen and the beers were absolutely delicious. Definitely worth the trek.
after completing the mürren via ferrata and finding ourselves in lauderbrunner, we searched “beer near me” on google maps. that led us to walking a bit out of town, using previous reviews to locate this home with a doorbell for beer. A very kind lady and gentleman responded indicating we had indeed rung the correct beerbell, proceeded to show us a basement microbrewery, and sell us a few beers. After spending our last 20 franks on this beer, we consumed all four on the short train ride back to interlaken. Here are our ratings. staubbach bier pale ale: 7.5/10 staubbach bier cider : pretty solid! / 10 staubbach bier tropical sour: mmm. first sour i’ve actually really liked. excellent. / 10 staubbach bier IPA: too drunk to rate Overall, we were impressed by the quality of the each of the beers and especially liked the sour. Thanks for being a highlight on our trip from the US. We vow to support micro brewers anywhere and everywhere. I hope everyone who sees this figures out where this house is and buys some bier!
Got to meet Rene today and purchase a few of his amazing beers. I read about the brewery as much as I could find and stopped at Hotel Silberhorn since they are one of a few places it is available. They were delicious and I had to find the brewery. Just as described. Unassuming house, walk up the stairs, hit the beer doorbell and Rene pops out ready to sell some amazing beers. Sweet people and amazing local beer, what more could you want? Cash only, takeaway. Bring something to carry them home in if you can, I didn’t have anything but he was kind enough to find me a bag. One of the most wholesome breweries I’ve ever been too. After you get inside by likely ringing a bell it is in a tiny room that is just take away beer, but for anyone wanting a taste of true local beer I can’t recommend it more! The owner of the home is so nice too! Thank you so much!!!
At the time of this post , I tried the Belgian Dark Strong Ale, which is about 10% alcohol level according to the owner. If im correct, his son works here and continues with this bier/beer business at this house. I think very little people know about this place, but if you have time, you should pay a visit as you can find some photogenic spots along the way. The normal bier is 3.5franc, and the dark strong is 4.5. Weather this day is around 13 degrees celcius eith clear skies. ❤️
Friendly micro brew where you can buy cans to go. Slightly confusing because you need to go a little past where Google maps tells you. There is a sidewalk that leads to the house. From there look for the logo and follow directions. Cash only. About €4 per beer. Cool, local excursion.
