It was way back in 2013 that i first tasted their "Hot Iron" Red Ale, and i have been a regular ever since. Turning the old smithy into a bar, complete with tools and all, was a genious move itself. But things get so much better when you try their catalogue. The "blonde" standart is easily one of the best Landbier style brews with a buttery, light taste, my red ale original taste is a beautiful, fruity piece of heaven, and they have justified my love for their craft with nearly every brew that came, experimental or traditional. I am a picky drinker. I search actively for microbreweries far smaller than this one, to find great tasting beer no matter the cost. Here, the cost in very fair AND consistently scratching top grades. Beer bars are a dime a dozen these days. The Schmitte is much more of an experience, both as a bar and a brewery. I urge anyone to give them a try.
