We had missed our bus and decided to stop here while waiting for the train, and thank goodness we did! The venison steak with lingonberries was hands down the best meal we’ve had in all of Switzerland. The dish came beautifully plated with tender venison, red cabbage, Brussels sprouts, spätzle, and even a poached pear topped with lingonberries and roasted chestnuts, the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and earthy flavors. Paired with a local Einsiedler beer on tap, everything was just perfect. Honestly shocked the reviews aren’t higher, between the food, the view of the Alps, and the fair pricing for Swiss standards, this was an unforgettable stop!
We walked around at 9 p.m. and most restaurants’ kitchens have already been closed, except Adler. We ordered Berner Rösti and Black Pesto Tagliatelle, and quite enjoyed these dishes. The prices are a bit high but understandable due to the location. Good service also.
Our best dinner in Kandersteg. Burger is amazing. The venison and sides are to die for. Actually the autumn sides alone are all perfect and it's even better since they have it as a vegetarian dish. Mojito mocktail with blueberries oh my!
Really bad fondue! Having lived in Switzerland for a long time, this is very shocking to see a restaurant couldn’t get fondue right. The texture was wrong and the taste was way too salty. The owner never apologized, found excuses and tried to fix it. We asked to see the chef, who didn’t have time because “he’s too busy”.
The food is fantastic. The waiter gave us very good advice. We love it. Nice and clean place.
Good experience, really good staff But Rosti not the best but it’s ok👍
