Sutter construction company is well trusted and reliable to work with
Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience with Sutter Bauunternehmung AG. Despite big promises and an initially professional demeanor, significant problems arose during the implementation of our construction project. Agreed services were not fully provided, and despite repeated inquiries, important defects remained unresolved. The lack of transparency regarding costs was particularly disappointing – in the end, we were faced with significantly higher bills than originally agreed upon! Communication also left much to be desired, and legitimate complaints were barely addressed. Anyone who values reliability, honesty, and professional work should carefully consider whether to hire this company.
We built with Sutter AG – the house is standing and basically in good condition, but the process of getting there was anything but satisfactory. There were significant coordination problems between Sutter AG and the construction manager, which led to inexplicable additional costs. Unfortunately, the company was not customer-oriented in this regard and, despite clear communication, did not accommodate us. The management reports were inadequate, there were ambiguities regarding the invoiced services, and items declared by the construction manager as "overcharged" were still vigorously demanded. On several occasions, we were even personally pressured at home to pay immediately – a procedure we found extremely unprofessional and stressful. Furthermore, some construction defects have not been remedied to this day. What was particularly disappointing was that Sutter AG pursued us even though the construction manager communicated the errors in Sutter AG's invoices. This forced us to hire a lawyer. In the end, we had to accept an unfair settlement offer in the arbitration hearing, as the legal fees would have been higher than the amount in dispute. Conclusion: The house is standing – with minor defects – but in terms of administration, the whole thing was a disaster. I wouldn't wish on any builder to be repeatedly pressured in their home. That has nothing to do with fair business practices.
