Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Mr. Zink at all! Five years ago, he recommended a Pillar 3a life insurance policy to me with two insurance companies (Swiss Life and Zurich). At the time, I was young and naive and believed his advice (he was a friend of my parents). While he never lied, in my opinion, he deliberately omitted other products (where he receives little or no commission) and recommended the combined policy with life insurance. In my circumstances (single, no children, in excellent health, highly educated), I would never have needed both income replacement insurance and life insurance, and even then, you can insure them much more cheaply separately if you want—which, of course, he didn't tell me! He claimed it was the best product on the market, but he didn't tell me that there are much cheaper Pillar 3a bank solutions like Frankly and others. From NZZ to TA and SRF, all financial experts agree: Pillar 3a insurance products are far too expensive and have opaque, excessively high administrative costs, which, due to compound interest over 30 years, amount to an enormous sum! The result: Mr. Zink pocketed a hefty commission, the insurance companies made a killing, and I painfully paid CHF 9,870 in tuition fees. But better to learn the lesson now than in retirement. ``` Lesson learned: Stay away from opaque, overpriced 3A insurance products and stay away from dishonest "financial advisors" like Mr. Z. Mr. Z. will, of course, deny everything and say that he made me aware of the risks and costs, that I wanted the insurance, and that I had time to read the contract and ask questions—but let's be honest: how is anyone supposed to truly understand a 17-page contract filled with technical jargon and highly complex issues in detail (and I have a university master's degree)? I believed him, as an "expert" and family friend, that I didn't have to understand everything myself. This commission system is a structural flaw and creates completely the wrong incentives! I would have much preferred to pay a fixed hourly rate and receive objective, fair advice, rather than simply being pushed on a product that primarily benefits the advisor's and the insurance company's wallets. I wonder how they can sleep soundly at night. I understand that consultants need to make a living too — but not like this!
Warning: Despite our cancellation, he still signed us to a contract. Luckily, we were able to get out of it, but we're stuck with the costs. He's never reachable because he doesn't care about the customer.
Andreas Zink has been expertly and completely satisfied with all our needs regarding insurance and financial planning for many years. I am impressed by how he consistently finds the best solution for us and sometimes demonstrates exceptional dedication. We couldn't imagine a better advisor!
