NEW REVIEW: We stayed here two months ago and had a fabulous experience. I wrote the below review which I am leaving here to show the contrast. The hotel has new owners it seems and they gave us a really cold room on the first floor on the 29th October. We called reception and they took forever to get us a heater and when they finally did it didn’t work. At 2:30am I was prepared to leave and came down to reception to get a refund and to book a taxi. The guy at reception would not issue the refund for the room and we had to call Hotels.com to get him to agree. Nightmare guy with attitude. He even told the lady on the phone that it was warm outside and in the rooms. Then told a fib how they had 70 other rooms booked and that nobody else had ever complained. It's a big building and they are saving on heating while charging up on 150CHF and higher. Shame to see the old owner go, they had something special here. OLD REVIEW: Awesome experience. We stayed one night and I am writing this from the breakfast table. We had the tomahawk steak in the hotel restaurant after we arrived - delicious tasting. Breakfast was also really good, fresh ingredients, good quality hams and salmon, and a wide selection of foods and chefs preparing it. The room was pristine clean, shower incredible and even as a woman I really loved the classic car vibe throughout the hotel. Staff very friendly at reception and we had a lovely waiter who took care of us.
The hotel is ideal for a stopover on your way to further destinations. Large parking, beautifully finished rooms, and very friendly staff. The car collection on display is worth a look; as a car enthusiast, I even visited twice :). Is there anything negative to say? Yes, there is. The breakfast could have been fresher. It didn't quite fit with the hotel's setting and the price.
Good rooms and environment not the best food location isn’t good. Would recommend if you are not going to stay here for your whole trip a bit far from the city.
First, the hotel has a bar right outside just at the entrance which plays really loud music starting after sunset. You would think they would have more of a calm & sophisticated vibe but this showed otherwise. At some point there was even really loud music audible all the way from our room in the upper floors at night until 1:00am. The rooms are spacious which was good, however they are really dusty. Besides, the rooms cannot be locked from the inside, meaning anyone from cleaning service can open the door from outside even though you’re in the room, which happened to us and they opened the door despite knowing that we were there. There was even a big spider web on the chairs outside in the terrace. Expected much more in terms of hygiene. Speaking of which, the terrace is not private there is just a small separating wall but once the person walks a bit to the front they can see all the rooms on that side of the floor. The museum was nice to see. The breakfast is quite average as there is not much variety for a 4 star hotel and some of the pastries were dry and the scrambled eggs were placed right next to the bacon in the buffet and some were using the same spatula to grab both which might not be a suitable option for anyone who doesn’t eat meat/bacon. One of the waitresses at breakfast was also really rude and never smiled at anyone. The ladies at the reception were really nice though.
We have a event salsa party good place to make a party for everyone go for it.
