Northface Trail — Obere Brüch 697, 3826 Mürren, Switzerland

Was a fabulous hike through the Swiss countryside. We heard cow bells almost the entire time. Although the trail is well marked, it was helpful to have AllTrails to confirm our path as there are many alternate paths to get back to town. Since you are hiking across farmland, you may have to move the cows to get to a gate. They are very timid and move easily. We also saw a wild fox within five meters of us … absolutely stunning.

📍 Northface Trail – Mürren, Bernese Oberland, Switzerland 🇨🇭 One of the most scenic hikes in the region! 🥾 The trail is well-marked and takes you through alpine meadows 🌸🌼, forests 🌲, and pastures with cows 🐄, all while offering breathtaking views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau 🏔️. Along the way you’ll find information boards that share stories about local life and history, making the walk both beautiful and interesting. It’s moderately easy, family-friendly, and a perfect half-day hike starting from Allmendhubel above Mürren. 🌿 Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Lauterbrunnen Valley. 🙌

The Lost Forest Mum

Went in June 2025. The scenery was just beautiful and the weather was still not too hot. The walk to Gimmelwald was unforgettable, passing by many huts and seeing the mountains in the distance. Everyone should try this hike.

Hiked a lot of trails in Tahoe in the last 20s years, is this trail worth the effort? Not for me. I had enough of the view of the Northface in the first quarter of this trail. Saw some people carrying big luggages on their back which was unusual. Trail is not very well marked and needed to follow the Trail app on my phone. I would say Witch trail on Alpe di Siusi were better than this.

Beautiful loop trail of easy to moderate difficulty (moderate if there’s been rain or snow as sections can be slippery, trekking poles recommended). Stop at one of the farms in the way for self serve snacks. Bring cash. I have difficulty with inclines so started at the Almendhubel and worked my way down back to Mürren. Inclines were less intense and doable that way. Took this trail on an overcast, slightly snowy day and it was still beautiful. Looking forward to doing it again on a clearer day.

Very easy and beautiful hike. Got caught in the rain but a beautiful rainbow appeared after the sunshine. The brightest rainbow we have ever see. Your sure to see cows on this hike
