Avoid ER. A competent consult and treatment is pure luck. Waited 6h, blood labs were messed-up, diagnosis completely wrong, not even taking into consideration the possibility of the later diagnosis by an expert. Fortunately it was nothing life threatening.
My husband went for a back operation at the Männedorf Hospital and we only have positive feedback. He had a back hernia and was in a lot of pain. The Spinal and Neurological team was excellent (Dr Laux and Dr Bauer)!!! The team discussed the procedure perfectly and gave us all the relevant information in English as we cant speak perfect German nor Swiss. From reception to the nursing staff (Eda and Karina) thank you for communicating in English and for the best service a patient can ask for. Hubby had a beautiful view of the Zurich lake out his room window. He could return home after 2 nights in the hospital. We would recommend Männedorf !!! Thanks for making a stressful situation a good experience!!
I was at the hospital with my daughter Staff are amazing specially Mauro who has feather hands to take blood and to do perfusion specially on a patient who is scared of needles. We had a good laugh thanks a lot Mauro and all other staff and obviously the doctor . The waiting time was not that long staff at the reception took our details straight away .
Mixed feelings : one TC scan went well in term of support, another time no support at all for another exam (due to language barrier) But nice location and parking
I just came in for an emergency. The emergency room staff when checking in are very rude and borderline racist. They made comments in German about me (I am decent in my German language skills but I couldn’t speak properly due to my injury). One person commented that I should speak German or go somewhere else to her colleague, not knowing I understood her. Another colleague was rude and threw my insurance card and documents at me. This is unacceptable. Luckily there was a nice nurse who cared to listen to me and help me translate. The date is 1st May 2025 and I hope the hospital administration will read this and reach out to me. No one should be discriminated against and be treated as a second class citizen.
I had my operation today as an outpatient… i was nervous and uneasy. But the staffs in the recovery were very helpful and friendly. I also heard how they were with other patients, an elderly and a middle aged woman. I find it comforting how they made them laugh during this time. The Anesthesiologist and the nurse anesthetist who were assigned to me were good, they made sure that i am relaxed. The doctor who operated on me, was also nice. Everything went well… Aside from this, during my check up, a few days before the operation, the doctor who did the initial assessment was very empathic and very soft spoken. She was also very gentle, and made sure that I was comfortable. The Patientenempfang personnel were also nice. They answered my questions and helped me checked if the forms i filled up were correct. I also had a “not so nice” experience with some staffs, it was when i gave birth a few years ago. During the morning rounds, when a staff checked up on me, i told her that i passed some blood clots, then she pressed my abdomen, a big blood clot came out, which was actually a good thing… which the second staff clearly commented, “eww”. Very unprofessional. Good thing was, i never saw her again during the next 2 days of my stay. I don’t want to spoil my stay and ignore the good things the other staffs were doing because of that one “rotten” staff… That’s why i decided to have my operation in this hospital…
