American in Switzerland! I loved visiting this cheese factory. They have such an interactive self-guided tour of the facility. Super for the family or friends. Audio tours are available in English! Try the Charcoal cheese and the Wasabi Cheese! Danke!!!
We had a fantastic experience visiting the cheese factory in Marbach! They offer a self-guided tour (for a small fee) that takes you through the process of how their cheese is made. It was well-organized, informative, and gave us a great insight into traditional Swiss cheesemaking. There’s also a nice restaurant and a shop where you can enjoy local specialties and buy their delicious products. What truly impressed us was the personal attention—we mentioned our dietary preferences, and they kindly prepared a custom fondue cheese mix just for us. It was thoughtful and tasted amazing! Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area. A great stop to learn, eat, and enjoy authentic Swiss cheese.
It was really interesting to see how cheese was made, even when we ate we can watch how they prepared their cheese. A lot of history and informational stuff was displayed. There was even a fun activity to use radio with earbuds to hear what it says per post. There was English, French, swiss German (I have never seen this before) and formal German. They even had a short projector section, pc section and a cheese personality test (lol). Was fun but it’s fairly short, I wouldn’t plan a whole day there, I would plan maybe like… 2-3h at most. Food itself is pretty good, I would give food 4 stars and touring 4 stars so overall 4 stars
I found this place by coincidence and after visiting the shop I can surely say I was very lucky. Products from the region (dairy products, sausage and some others). Good quality, amazing taste.
Was worth the drive from Luzern. Informative and the cheese was amazing
Updating in 2022 It is now a paid visit, costs more than better cheese making factory. The previous charm is lost. Can not recommend The BEST cheese making factory you can visit in a 100 km radius! Extremely educational, friendly staff, yummy samples, amazing store. Learnt so much and enjoyed much more. English friendly too! Hidden GEM!
