Very nice retreat in front of the lake Many amenities available for hotel guests
The food was unbelievably disappointing. I basically had a chicken nugget on dry spaghetti, obviously called something fancy to entice me. It was something I would have concocted in high school.
We were eager to discover L’Orangerie, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of our expectations, especially for an establishment of this caliber. The chateaubriand was cooked incorrectly twice: ordered rare, it was served well-done each time. The béarnaise sauce, while the sabayon was well-executed, lacked authenticity—chives replaced the chervil and tarragon, essential ingredients for a true béarnaise. Another disappointment was the risotto, prepared with rice resembling basmati, which is completely unsuitable for this iconic Italian dish. Finally, the wait was excessively long, to the point of spoiling our appetites. That said, we commend the professionalism of the servers, who were very attentive throughout the meal. And a special mention goes to the vitello tonnato served as an amuse-bouche, which was perfectly executed. A mixed evening then, with some real positives, but serious errors in the kitchen that one does not expect in such a setting.
Sitting in the Orangerie is like stepping inside an exceptionally well-preserved wooden sailboat. Their varied and comprehensive drinks menu surprised me immensely. The resident musician has an extensive playlist to suit all tastes; you never want to leave the lounge! Atmosphere 100/100.
Excellent food, a lovely atmosphere, and friendly staff. What more could you want?
