this is a very fun outing to do if you are in switzerland. Riding up with the funicular was very fun and so impressive how steep it gets! You can enjoy some nice views on the way up and there are some nice walks to do up there too. Or you can continue up to the Fronalpstock.
I visited Stoosbahn in autumn. Although it was foggy at the bottom, the weather turned out to be bright and clear at the top. Swiss engineering is truly amazing — the ride itself is an experience! I have no regrets coming here. After reaching the top, I went hiking from Fronalpstock to Klingenstock, and the views were absolutely stunning. If I get the chance, I’ll definitely come back again someday… wish me luck! 🇨🇭🍂
My experience at Stoos. I was there with my wife and friend in February 2025, and enjoyed the view. This place is amazing; it feels like you are touching the sky, and it's breathtaking. It is a must-visit place.
Very impressive with amazing views! It’s extremely steep however once inside you will not feel it, you will only see it when passing through the tunnels. On top, you can do a beautiful ridge hike during the day!

4 stars only for the steepest funicular in the world. The funicular ride was slow and fun. You don't feel the incline because only the base of funicular inclines but your internal seating area remains still while going up. The stoos village is just like other ordinary villages of Switzerland. Yes stoos ridge hike is stunning but it requires an additional ticket as Swiss Travel Pass only includes the funicular ride. If you have limited time, better go to Stanserhorn or Rigi and skip this place as reaching funicular base is also times consuming from Schwyz train station you have limited buses to Stoosbahn.
