We enjoyed a visit on a wet afternoon last week and was given a personal tour and demonstrations in English. The tour guides are all volunteers and very knowledgeable, lots of interesting and unusual exhibits still in working order too - fantastic! (note- payment by cash only)

If you're looking for a hidden gem in Switzerland, the MUMM is a must-visit! Our recent trip to the museum was made even more special by the English tour that was available on the day we visited. It was amazing to see and hear the century-old instruments that are still in great condition. One of the highlights of my visit was being able to wind the music box and control the speed of the music. It was such a unique and immersive experience that I'll never forget. The music played by these instruments is truly magical, and it transported me back in time. I even found myself tearing up at the beauty of it all! The museum's dedication to preserving these instruments is also very impressive. I appreciated seeing how they take care of these historic pieces, ensuring that they will continue to be enjoyed for generations to come. If you're planning a trip to the museum, besides taking the bus, I also recommend taking a morning boat from Interlaken west and entering the museum no later than 4pm to fully experience all that it has to offer. We stayed in Switzerland for 16 days and visited more than 10 museums. Overall, this was one of the top museum experiences we've had in this trip, and I can't recommend it enough!

One of the best museums I have been to! Learnt a lot about clocks and musical instruments from the knowledgeable staff who gave a very thorough guided tour. They are really fun and informative, and offered the guided tour in both German and English to cater to the audience when we were there. Everyone on the staff is a volunteer and they are really passionate and enthusiastic to share their love and knowledge with visitors. A must visit if you are in the Interlaken area and if you are fascinated as us by the mechanical workings of clocks and instruments!

A must visit. Delightful display of some amazing mechanical inventions. Only open from 2-5pm and doesn't have an English guide every day so call ahead to arrange a visit and guide. All employees are volunteers and very passionate about the museum.

Extremely interesting with very knowledgeable staff! The given tour lasted about an hour, and the staff was extremely passionate about all of the items on display. And all of the pieces were well maintained and in good working condition! Definitely recommended.
