I can only say good things about the Ostermundigen Gemeinde and staff. The employees were polite, friendly, understanding, and competent. Affairs were efficiently handled by emails and patient phone calls. It was a remarkable contrast to the Gemeindeverwaltung in Bern Stadt.
I have never encountered a better public office. The diligence, understanding and patience of Sarah and her colleagues are extraordinary. Their excellent support is extremely helpful when moving to Switzerland :) You are making a difference!
Disastrous organization, inefficiency, and sometimes downright rude! It's 2022, and yet electronic documents aren't accepted?! The municipality has clearly missed the boat on digital progress...
The staff are helpful and friendly, but the building itself is a disaster – neither accessible nor wheelchair-friendly. The driveway is far too steep, and the entrance door is much too narrow with a threshold that's impossible to navigate alone. And this is supposed to be a public authority!
Disastrous organization, inefficiency, and rudeness. Despite COVID, there was a long queue and behind closed doors were employees who were off duty, and I wonder what these people were actually doing besides taking smoke breaks?
The staff were unfriendly and showed no understanding for other professional groups who also had to do their jobs… Awful, it couldn't be more unfriendly.
