The Jura Railways (CJ) is a rail and road transport company serving the cantons of Jura, Bern, and Neuchâtel. Its headquarters are in Tavannes. The CJ is a public limited company with 108,500 shares. The CJ was created following the merger of four independent companies connecting Porrentruy to Bonfol, Saignelégier to La Chaux-de-Fonds, Glovelier to Saignelégier, and Tavannes to Le Noirmont. The lines extend over a total of 84.8 km, of which just over 73 km are meter gauge, with the remaining 11 km between Porrentruy and Bonfol being standard gauge. The Jura Railways also operates local bus services throughout the region. The company also has four trucks for transporting milk. The CJ is an integrated railway company, acting as both a railway infrastructure manager and operator. In 2019, the CJ (Chemins de fer du Jura) transported 1,457,000 passengers by train and 322,000 passengers by bus. Staff numbers: 170 employees, including 4 apprentices. Petitjean and Sceut.
