Found this gem while wandering around Switzerland. Quaint and quintessential Swiss vibes. Simple menu choices-- we tried the beef and fondue. Both enjoyable and excellent. The table next to ours had a charcuterie plate that looked equally wonderful. 5 stars!
Food was good! The staff were very warm and welcoming! Had a beautiful view from the outdoor seating.
We hiked down from Rigi Kulm. Looked around for a place to eat. Found this one on Google Map. Looked for the signs and found it tucked away up a short hill out of sight from the main tourist areas. We asked for a menu. Nope, the server just explained the 4 menu items available. We picked “beef”. He said, you prepare at your table to your preference. Herb butter and French fries.” That sounded interesting and good so we went with it. Wow, was it amazing!! The best meal we’ve had in Switzerland yet. The view can’t be beat. It’s late February and the crowd was thin. It was perfect. Highly recommend the “beef”!!
A really nice place to have a meal/snacks a short walk away from the crowd (warning: the walk is uphill). We arrived near closing time but the staff were very kind and offered the possibility of flammkuchen or sandwich - we ordered both and they were excellent.
It was my best cordon Blue ever and try local beer!
Absolute must do when visiting Mt Rigi. Tucked away on the hillside, away from the main tourist crowd. The bubbly gentleman who served us was so friendly and engaging, we couldn't stop complimenting the chef on the lentil coconut milk soup which was so delicious. Great selection of Swiss mains, we left very happy and would definitely come back
