Very helpful staff, lots of local information
Lack of empathy and consideration. Yesterday, I went to Saanen to view a property I'm interested in buying. Having trouble finding my way, I stopped my car (in the space reserved for the tourist office employee) to call the real estate agent for directions. At that precise moment, the tourist office employee arrived and blocked my car from behind, preventing me from getting out. I signaled to him that I was inside and, of course, I would give him his space. He wouldn't listen and blocked me until he finally decided to leave! The property viewing still took place, but with a very bitter aftertaste! Does the tourist office officer think he's superior enough to refuse to engage in any dialogue and unilaterally decide to block my vehicle?! This has seriously made me reconsider buying property in your municipality; after all, my taxes will be used to pay such unfriendly employees! A word to the wise.
Saanen may be small, but at least it doesn't just have international shops. Beautiful houses, but unfortunately not much else to see.
Wow, how wonderful it is that the village centers of Saanen and Gstaad are car-free.
