Very nice experience, I suggest the complete tour of the lake
We were on the boat in May 2022 with a group of 12. Beautiful lake and surroundings. The boat is smooth and has room for 50 guests. Since 2022, there's also a female captain at the helm! Please note: The timetable is occasionally not adhered to. Boarding is difficult at low water levels (steep ramp, but the crew is always helpful), but all my fellow passengers, who are over 80, managed it! There is currently no stop at the Zollhaus pier in Giswil. The round trip, approximately 90 minutes, costs CHF 22. Bicycles, wheelchairs, and pets are welcome when the boat isn't full. Drinks, snacks, and ice cream are available for purchase, and there is a restroom. I highly recommend a trip in good weather.
It's great that there's a boat on Lake Sarnen! Don't be alarmed: This scheduled boat is privately owned and not part of the public transport fare system! (GA travelcard, half-fare card, Junior travelcard – none of these are valid.) So, naturally, you'll pay quite a bit, which might seem strange to Swiss public transport users! But when you consider the effort involved, the prices make perfect sense. Tip: Take the "Seestern" boat from Sarnen to Giswil Zollhaus and then walk back along the lakeshore. Along the way, you'll find restaurants, fire pits, a playground with a train set, and restrooms.
Clean, friendly, punctual. We had a lovely trip on the Starfish. The only thing we would change is the TV on board. It plays CNN News, which we find unfortunate.
The boat tour was great! Snacks and drinks were available on board.
Fantastic boat trip on a small, historic vessel. Very friendly captain who does everything himself. Drinks, snacks, ice cream, etc. are available.
