Amazing place: beautiful interior and exterior, good service and delicious menu
Such a beautiful restaurant! I'm glad I stumbled upon this restaurant for my birthday meal. The food is beautiful and tasty. I love that the chef is mindful of sustainability and serves small portions to avoid food waste (you can of course ask for seconds for free). Also, be sure to try the meringue, speciality from the region.

Our lunch at Kemmeribodebad was an absolute highlight. The service was very attentive, they gave us great advice, and we had lovely conversations. Thank you, Ronja! The food was superb. The sauces deserve special mention – incredibly delicious. The soup of the day was also fantastic. They're known for their desserts, especially the meringue. Come and try it for yourself! 🍨 The atmosphere was very pleasant. The whole place is wonderful, both in winter and summer.
If the weather is good, you should make a reservation outside in advance (next time), but the interior is also very quaint and beautifully decorated. Free parking for guests (not common everywhere). The waitresses were busy but very friendly nonetheless. Homemade iced tea that really tastes like tea. Bernese Platter PLUS PLUS. I rarely eat marrow bones, but given the quality, it would be an insult... The ratio of meat to side dishes is definitely on the meat side. If I had room left in my stomach, I would have asked for half a potato, but that's complaining at the highest level. I'll end with a high German compliment: you can't moan. [Motzen means complaining in Berlin - a German favorite pastime ;-) ]
I celebrated my birthday with my family at your restaurant for lunch – a day that should have been one of the best of my life. Unfortunately, it was completely ruined by the service and the food. My husband had booked in advance and organized everything. There was a small birthday card on the table – the only nice surprise of the day. But this kind gesture couldn't compensate for the disappointment caused by the rest of the experience. The first waitress forgot our main order, and when we inquired later, the kitchen refused to prepare the dishes – even though the mistake was clearly the staff's. Such behavior is simply unacceptable, especially with a reservation. When the food finally arrived, the venison was tough, the entrecôte far too salty, and the atmosphere at the table was completely ruined. Even the second waitress's belated efforts couldn't salvage the situation. A birthday is a unique moment – you can't get it back. It's truly sad that a lack of organization and sensitivity ruined such a significant day. In the end, they brought us a coffee "as an apology"—a gesture that felt more shameful than comforting.
