We stayed here at the very start of our 3 month journey around Europe. We were new to camping and so were a liitle unsure of what to expect. On our arrival we were welcomed by Monika and told to choose any plot. She offered help and advise …
At first, I didn’t really understand why this campsite gets so much praise — but after an hour I completely fell in love with it. Everything is set up with hikers in mind: a drying area for clothes, microwave, electric gas, and small thoughtful details everywhere. Pitching a tent was very easy, and the view is wonderful. The owner is nice, and you can feel he designed the place with real care for campers. I only stayed one night, but I honestly wished I could have stayed longer. This campsite is a perfect example of how a campsite should be — a dream for hikers!
The campsite is very flat and the ground is soft enough to pitch up your tent without any trouble. The toilet and shower facilities were always spotless and clean. We have never been at a campsite that is so well maintained and cleaned, every day. The owner and his team work really hard. There was a pop up swimming pool of decent size (and cleaned daily!) which was a saviour during the hot weather. There was no pieces of grass or any dirt in it during our 3 day stay. The campsite is dog friendly. The pitch is a decent size with a proximate access to fresh drinking water. The water points were literally everywhere so you didn't have to walk far. The campsite has its own bar where you can buy drinks and food. We didn't buy any food here so cannot comment. Perfect location to explore the area, 1 hour from Bern, 20 minute walk to Meiringen town. You can see a beautiful Waterfall from the campsite which was a cherry on top! The views from the campsite are just divine, you will be surrounded by mountains and nature.
We arrived with bicycles after sunset and thank god there was space. Tent area is on the grassy little field in the common area next to the super clean toilets, showers and laundry room. There is also tables and chairs which is great for tent people to hang out, cook, eat at and charge your devices. In the morning I was craving for some jam but none left in the camp market. The old gentleman at the coffee corner offered me jam from his own jar and made my day at 7 in the morning:) I would definetly stay here again. Nice cool camp site with friendly staff.
Showers & toilets: perfect. Nice view, pool, calm camping. Arrival without reservation. Very friendly host. Ideal for bikepacking, small roof with power, tables, ... available
It was my first experience living at a campsite. My family and I lived in the small cottage at the camp site. It was a wonderful experience. The room was clean and good enough for the three of us. The facility was clean. The views are excellent from the campsite. I absolutely loved everything about the place. The owners were kind and helped us when we needed, explained things and welcoming
