The software is okay, but our experience with support wasn't so good. As a registered customer, we submitted a support request on the website, and the response was to please call the hotline (€3/min.), without any further details or explanations. So, there was no free 15-minute support session (SVS) as promised (within the first six months of purchase). We didn't get any further. It wasn't possible for us to get 15 minutes of free support.

Positive: Shakehands Kontor is relatively inexpensive. The software is quite complex under the hood, however. A ton of logic is embedded directly in the database layer. There's no backend; the fat client communicates directly with the database. Using it over a WAN/VPN connection is practically impossible. Mr. H. prefers to constantly push updates on you, and if he doesn't like something for even a minute, he quickly becomes quite polemical...

More time is being spent here acquiring customer data than developing solutions. Currently, I need information on how to import the new PostFinance XLM ISO 20022 file into Shakehands. Although the website and documentation state that this information can be downloaded freely, support is only available after providing personal information. Even though I provided the license details for the purchased product to support, I haven't received the necessary information. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product.

For SMEs, there's nothing better. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable, and the range of functions is extensive. Updates and expansions are also very reasonably priced.
