This is a great place to go during Winter. It is a 2,5-3 hours hike with snowshoes on. If you are fit i'll take 2 hours. There is a great view, good food, nice toilets and the best you can rent a sledge and go down in 30 min while laughing the whole way down
No dinner!! I love this place, I have been here 3 times before with no issues, but the last week we did the way up to do night sledge on Thursday. Previously I sent them an email the day before to ensure that the track was opened. It took us nearly 2h to get there and we were starving (we arrived at 21:00, they close at 23:00 according to their website). We were very surprised when the woman said there was no food as we did not have a reservation. This was never informed in their website nor in my previous visits to the hütte, when we did not have a reservation and we had dinner for 4. We were just my friend and I this time! After 10min taking a beer, the woman came and said “we have cake if you want”, which sadly was not freshmade, but obviously we accepted the expensive offer (16chf beer+cake). When a group of people left the hütte on their way down, they shut down the lights at 22:00, like “inviting us” to leave. The hütte has cabled electricity so we could not understand how hard is it to provide a minimum service. We were not asking for anything special but some warm food after walking up 2h at -7°C in the night. We would like to suggest Romy and Sepp to review their hospitality or at least inform about kitchen times or pre-reservations on their website as we were really disappointed when we left.
We had lunch here. Friendly service and tasty food, but i found the portions quite small given the price (in comparison to other mountain huts).
Nice walk up to the Hütte - appetizer, the fondue and the meringue were great. highlight is the ride down with the "Gemmel"
Great potato salad and cheese board, and lovely hostess!
delicious soups.nice view
