Absolutely terrific! My family just spent a few days at an AirBnB next door to this restaurant. We arrived late on the first night fairly hungry, so we walked next door to see what options they had. The staff could not have been nicer, so very welcoming to us. Even with a language barrier, the staff was super helpful as we used a Translate App to communicate. They even worked with us on an allergy which we are very thankful for. The food was FANTASTIC! To top it all of, we were in need of Milk for our Baby and they allowed us to bring a cup from our house over and they filled it free of charge. We ended up visiting multiple more times, and they hand delivered the food to our front door. We could not be more happy with Il Gabbiano, we highly recommend it to anyone in the area!! If we ever visit Zurich again in the future, we will absolutely be going back. Thank you to the owner and staff for your warm hospitality!!

Food is expensive in Switzerland. However, this is one of the few places where you really get a lot for your money. The portions are huge! The service is excellent, very friendly, and efficient. The food was delicious and satisfied our hungry family. The pizza is great with a perfectly baked, crispy yet chewy crust, salty mozzarella, and delicious tomato sauce. The individual pizzas are large, as big as a giant plate. The calzone is even larger and filled with pizza delicacies. The tagliatelle funghi porcini consisted of delicious egg pasta cooked al dente with a light cream sauce and plenty of mushrooms. The soup and salad were top-notch. The panna cotta was chilled with a delicious berry compote and fresh berries. This place is open late and is a good place to grab a hot meal right after the train! Must-try: Pizza, tomato cream soup, scorching coffee with cognac, panna cotta

Very bad!!! After ordering 2 pizzas, we waited >1h 30 min (it said 20-40min max). In the end the pizza comes and it’s not cut in pieces??? I was satisfied with my pizza (not the worst) but my boyfriend ordered a special shrimp pizza for it only to be a margherita with 5 little pieces of shrimp. Would not recommend, don’t be a fool to read the amazing reviews as they have big rating and are all anonymous!!!

This restaurant is very close to Urdorf station on the side of platform 2. Seems like popular with locals which has a big housing estate. They make very good pizzas. Service is relaxed and friendly. You have to pay for tap water.

I quite too: Best pizza in the neighborhood! Really loaded with cheese and stuff. Other dishes are really good too but indeed quite overpriced. Staff really friendly. Nice terrace outside. Negative: sometimes is hard to find a parking spot!
