Sicily Sailing Trip, First Week of June 2023 At the beginning of June, we enjoyed wonderful days at sea in Sicily. We started our trip with a flight from Zurich to Palermo. There, we took a taxi to Capo d'Orlando. As usual, we arrived a day early and had time to explore the area. Our boat returned on Friday evening and was scrubbed and polished on Saturday, allowing us to set sail that afternoon. Booking with Joy-Sailing went smoothly. The boat was new, having been launched only three weeks prior. The equipment was therefore in perfect condition. The orientation was conducted in Italian and English (it's helpful to know some Italian). After shopping for supplies and spending our first night on board, we set sail for Panarea (Aeolian Islands). We anchored there and took the shuttle service into the small town. Then came further stops such as Tropea (Calabria), Stromboli, Salina Lipari, etc. On Friday, we returned to Capo D'Orlando. The wind was moderate, and it rained on and off. The sea temperature was 20 degrees Celsius. The Bali 42 catamaran offers plenty of space even in bad weather. The boats are well-equipped, and Yvonne fulfilled our equipment requests. On Saturday, we headed home.
We had a fantastic week of sailing in Gothenburg. Yvonne, as always, organized the trip perfectly. Before setting sail, she always checks that the yacht is seaworthy and that everything is on board. She lets the crew sail and maneuver themselves, readily and enthusiastically sharing her vast sailing experience. Her motto is always sailing, not motoring, which her guests also greatly appreciate. She entertains the crew wonderfully by recounting her countless sailing adventures. On our last day of sailing, with 22 knots of wind (gusting up to 35 knots), Skip Yvonne expertly steered us through the storm. You can always feel comfortable with her and trust that the crew and yacht will arrive safely, satisfied, and enriched by many new experiences. I would sail around the world with Skip Yvonne anytime. Whether you're looking for an educational mileage cruise or a sailing holiday, I can wholeheartedly recommend Skip Yvonne.
One week in Croatia (Dubrovnik) as a sailing novice (me) and a long-distance sailing trip for my husband, which we thoroughly enjoyed until the very last moment! Competence, safety, and fun on a fantastic sailing yacht! We are thrilled, and Joy Sailing will definitely be back! ❤️ We're already looking forward to our next adventures! Thanks, Yvonne, for the very best!
Yvonne recommended and arranged our booking with PlattenSailing in Cuba. It was definitely a great choice :-) PlattenSailing took excellent care of us, and the Marimar, a 2010 Lagoon 421, was in top condition for its age. We spent four weeks exploring Cuba's secluded beaches and marveling at the underwater world; all our wishes were fulfilled!
A week around the islands off Dubrovnik (Coatia) and a week from island to island from Athens (Greece) where we always felt safe and in perfect hands 👌🏻 always well planned, informed, carried out and learned a lot 💡Thank you 🙏 Yvonne for the incredibly beautiful experiences and the next trip ⛵️ with Joy-Sailing is already on our wish list 😉
Joy-Sailing's service and offerings were impressive in every respect. Of course, their influence on the local situation is limited, so regional differences are noticeable. Croatia and Sweden were absolutely top-notch in every way, while Greece, for example, was less clean.
