The shop made a good impression on me, and Mr. Härdi seemed competent. The installation of the new DAB car radio looks great. Unfortunately, some elements are no longer working properly, such as the operation of the on-board computer. The front parking sensors only work when I put the car in reverse. If I drive forward and hit an obstacle, the sensors seem to activate and the signal is displayed, but there's no sound. The car clock can no longer be adjusted and therefore always shows the wrong time... because there's no direct access to the on-board system. Apparently, there are certain button combinations, but they don't work... Not even Mr. Härdi knows them. It would have been nice to be informed about these potential malfunctions before the installation. Then I might have reconsidered. Because if I now want to sell the car with these problems, I'm the one who's left holding the bag, not Mr. Härdi... and all this for a price of around CHF 1400.00. Very disappointing. Update from November 25, 2025 After a brief phone call, we scheduled an appointment for a check-up. Mr. Härdi had received a replacement interface in the meantime, and during our meeting, he swapped it with one that was already installed. And lo and behold, the missing functions are back, and everything can be operated almost as usual. Now I, too, am happy and satisfied with the work done. Thank you very much for your dedication and efforts in resolving the problems. Cost-effective and competent, SUPER service, thank you!
It takes a certain amount of trust to entrust a brand-new car to a workshop for a comprehensive sound system upgrade. To cut to the chase: ACR Phontastik did not disappoint this trust; quite the opposite, in fact. I contacted ACR Phontastik because, based on photos of their projects and reviews, I felt they were the most likely to handle a rather complex upgrade on a new car. And after a quick look at their website, it was clear to me: these are people who are passionate about their work. Take a look for yourself; there's a lot to discover that reveals these guys' love of music and their immense craftsmanship. The goal was: maximum performance, but therefore as inconspicuous as possible (keyword: wife acceptance factor). The problem is, you never really know what's under the trim panels and the trunk lid until you've practically taken half the car apart. That's why you simply have to be able to trust the mechanic. Our upgrade included: professional soundproofing of the front and rear doors, as well as the rear fenders. Replacing the original front speakers with tweeters, midrange drivers, and woofers. A powerful amplifier with DSP and an app to allow for future sound tuning. A high-performance subwoofer that would fit in the spare tire well. After removing the door panels, etc., Andi suggested the following: Tweeters (ETON HEX 28) in a small enclosure in the A-pillar, without obstructing the view. Midrange drivers (ETON GRAPHIT 80) in the recess under the windshield, where the factory speakers had previously been. Woofers (ETON HEX 165) in the door, also in a specially reinforced enclosure for maximum stability, but without reducing the storage space in the doors. Each enclosure was covered with dark Alcantara, which blends perfectly with the existing interior. The enclosures were then covered with dark Alcantara, which blends seamlessly into the existing interior. For the subwoofer (ETON GRAPHIT 10-4), Andi suggested building a custom enclosure tailored to the available space and calculated for optimal performance. The two amplifiers, an ETON STEALTH 7.1 DSP for the front speakers and an ETON STEALTH 1200.1 for the subwoofer, also went into the trunk. The available space was perfectly utilized for the two amplifiers, which were installed on the left and right sides under the trunk floor (see video). A few days later, I was able to pick up the car. The amplifier's wired remote control was discreetly but easily accessible integrated into the center console, and the car hadn't sustained a single scratch or any other damage from the removal of almost all the interior plastic parts. During the calibration process, it became clear that very little needed to be adjusted. We spent a good two hours exploring the extensive calibration and adjustment options offered by the Eton app. I was allowed to take the ETON RTA 35 measurement microphone with me, because anyone who loves good sound also enjoys fine-tuning from time to time. Besides the Android app, I also tried the Windows app from ETON, which is better in some respects and worse in others. ETON's software is very functional, but not necessarily intuitive. If you have some patience and enjoy experimenting, you'll be rewarded with extremely comprehensive settings that allow you to fine-tune the DSP to your own preferences. In conclusion: I'm extremely satisfied. The budget was adhered to, deadlines were met, and the craftsmanship is absolutely phenomenal. The consultation and training were highly professional; you can tell that the ACR Phontastik team has been doing this for a long time and puts their heart and soul into it. If anything comes up, I can contact them anytime. Therefore, I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit. Even if you're looking for a complex conversion on a high-end vehicle, you won't be disappointed.
I simply wasn't happy with the PCM system in my car (Carrera 997.1). The output power was too weak, even with a new "original" Porsche unit with CarPlay, etc. Andi knew exactly what the problem was and delivered a perfect result. Now listening to music in the car is a real pleasure. I'd gladly use his services again anytime.
Friendly welcome. Because we dropped by unannounced and there were other customers present, we were able to enjoy the tastefully decorated sales area for a while. It was worth the wait, as we then enjoyed the owner's undivided attention. DAB+ was what we wanted. No, we weren't pressured into buying the most expensive version, but offered a good and simple solution. However, we did want something more (navigation). The installation appointments worked out perfectly. A thorough demonstration in the vehicle was, of course, included. Now we have a great unit with DAB+ radio and Android navigation in both of our vehicles. The touchscreen takes some getting used to, but anyone who can use a smartphone can manage this. We can wholeheartedly recommend this company. Top-notch service. Oh yes: it did cost something, too. Not a bargain, but a fair price for excellent service. Thank you very much. Very competent, personalized, and honest advice before the purchase, a thorough installation, and a brief introduction to the radio, with support during setup. These days, it's rare to find providers with such service, who deliver such high-quality work, and at a fair price, too...
