A visit at the Schynigge Platte during autumn is quite worthwhile. First the ride up with the old train, second the stay in the hotel with a 4 course dinner menu, third the rooms with the unforgettable views and last but not least, the walking trails that lets one glimpse at the majestic Monch, Tiger, Jungfraujoch on the other side. It is a walk above the clouds, in the evening, the stars seems to be greeting you. Simple, scenic, beautiful things.
Booked from interlaken Ost. Was October so quite quiet. Very cold up top, do bring layers. Outstanding view!!
📍 Botanischer Alpengarten Schynige Platte – Bernese Oberland, Switzerland 🇨🇭 A beautiful alpine botanical garden 🌸🌼 showcasing more than 600 species of Swiss mountain plants. Nestled high above Interlaken 🏔️, it’s an easy walk from the Schynige Platte railway station 🚂 and offers both education and stunning scenery. Informative signs explain each plant 🌿, and the setting—surrounded by views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau—is unforgettable 🌄. A must-visit for nature lovers, hikers, and anyone wanting to experience the diversity of alpine flora up close. 🙌
The view from the Schinige Platte up to the Alps is panoramic. The hike to First offers the best views, but it is not easy as you walk on a rocky path for 5-6 hours. It is a difficult course with many steep climbs. The route from First to Schinige Platte is relatively easy as it is downhill.
On a sunny day, you are going to die of delight and wonder for the beauty all around. On a cloudy, slightly rainy day, you might survive with a light heart attack. The views are that breathtaking. Flowers all around, cliffs and valleys, the two massive lakes, and a hike that is only occasionally strenuous. Wear good hiking shoes and solid comfy socks. We took 400 photos, you might take more.
