No organization, no transparency, and no flexibility. Things were good under the old school administration, but now profit seems to be the only priority. As a student, you sometimes don't get a reply to important emails, even though you're paying a lot of money for your education.
Just like in real life, there are highs and lows here, or to put it another way: there are lecturers who actually teach you something, and then there are those where you... well, you know what I mean. I don't doubt their expertise at all, but having knowledge and imparting knowledge are two completely different things. The class trips? Nice idea, but you learn more about the lecturer's life story than about the actual topic on the curriculum. And you have to sacrifice your vacation days and pay for hotels. I guess that's what they call practical application... I call it more like an expensive school trip. If you fail an exam, you can, quite logically, retake it. That's understandable and fair. But if you think your grade might not have been entirely justified, you can appeal. A wonderful system if you happen to have a few hundred francs to spare that you'd like to donate. Because this appeal is not only costly, but also a real gamble. If it's rejected, the money's gone. A real learning experience, in every sense of the word. The best part? The feedback arrives the evening before the retake exam. This means you live for weeks, or even months, in a state of limbo between hope, denial, and fatalism, because you're so sure your arguments will be convincing. And then, just before you're about to go to sleep, the message arrives: appeal rejected. So, until the night before, you don't know whether you have to take the exam. But hey, who needs planning when you can have a thrill? Well... and then you're in a pickle. Only without the dressing. Oh yes, the new mandatory camera in online classes is a real highlight. Apparently, they don't trust adult students to participate in class without a camera. Instead of focusing on teaching, they prefer to discuss webcams being turned on. If you're offering online classes, you should perhaps also be able to accept that "online" means: not everyone wants to constantly stare into a camera. And please, don't come at me with studies that supposedly prove learning with a camera is more effective; nobody cares about that. Many students work full-time, and they might simply not want to be filmed trying to grab a bite to eat between shifts during class because there's no other opportunity. And sometimes, believe it or not, they just want to lie down because they've been on their feet all day. Finally, I want to emphasize that I've deliberately focused on the negative aspects here. Not because everything is bad—quite the opposite. The school has great potential, and that's precisely why I want it to utilize it. So, my criticism isn't so much complaining as a well-intentioned wake-up call.
The way the SIB treats students is unacceptable. Not a shred of empathy, zero flexibility, and absolutely no understanding of student life. Instead of support, you get rigid bureaucracy, a condescending tone, and cold indifference. Individual concerns are ignored – it feels like talking to a brick wall. Human interaction? Non-existent. It seems as if they've completely forgotten that their "clients" are young people in education – not second-class citizens. An institution that has so obviously lost touch with reality urgently needs to be reviewed and reformed. Because of one point, I'll advise against this school; there are plenty of others!
Room numbers vs. information boards are a bit confusing, or rather, until you find them and find yourself in the right room. Especially if it's your first time there.
I completed my advanced vocational training in Business Administration at SIB Zurich and have nothing but positive things to say about this school. The lecturers are not only extremely competent but also dedicated and motivating. They succeeded in conveying theoretical knowledge in a practical way, which made the lessons particularly valuable. The course content is cutting-edge and tailored to the demands of the modern job market. I was especially impressed by the personalized support – you can tell that individual learning success is the top priority here. Questions and concerns were always taken seriously and addressed promptly. Furthermore, SIB Zurich offers an excellent network that helped me with my professional development even after graduation. The skills and knowledge I acquired were directly applicable to my daily work and gave me a significant career advantage. I can recommend SIB Zurich to anyone seeking a sound and practical continuing education in business. Here, you not only receive a high-quality education but also the necessary support to achieve your career goals.
