¡Bienvenido de nuevo! Disfrutamos de un par de visitas el fin de semana pasado y estamos encantados de que el restaurante vuelva a abrir. Al principio estábamos nerviosos de que fuera una decepción, ya que habíamos leído las críticas aquí compartiendo de forma transparente la triste noticia de que el chef estaba gravemente enfermo. Sin embargo, ¡realmente disfrutamos ambas visitas! Comimos bien, y las porciones son ciertamente generosas y estaba tan delicioso que tuve que obligarme a dejar de comer o ¡no me habría movido en toda la tarde! El servicio es excelente y amable, también muy personal y atento. ¡Los niños recibieron crema extra en su pastel de chocolate y el propietario les proporcionó tarjetas Jass para entretenerlos mientras disfrutábamos de una cerveza! Realmente feliz y con ganas de recibir muchas más visitas y probar más del menú.

Very nice meal here at the newly renovated restaurant, food was very delicious and owners very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend it and not just for the views!

Definitely my favorite restaurant on Axalp. The restrant lies at around 1535 metres above Brienz on the southern shore of the lake. It can be reached by post bus or car in 35 minutes from Brienz. It has very spectacular views of the surrounding mountain range and Lake Brienz below. From spring to autumn, Axalp is also an ideal location for hiking and climbing activities. A woodcarving trail leads to the tiny deep green Hinterburgseeli lake. It is scattered by sculptures carved out of tree trunks by local woodcarvers. The idea for trail project was born after a terrible storm hit in 1999 and wreaked havoc on the mountainside and many trees where fulled. Carvers and sculptors still continue to add to the art along the trail. Experience the creation of works of art while hiking along the beautiful trail from restaurant Axalp Stübli to the Hinterburgsee lake. There are now some what 80 carvings along the woodcarving trail with new ones being added at the end of July each year. Also be sure to check back in after your bike and order a Jungfrau beer wich is the perfect topping to the end of your hike? Don't let it stop you in winter thou.
