There were two of us at Schnitz und Gwunder. I'm giving it two stars mainly because of the 20% discount on the entire bill for paying in cash, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the staff had very limited German skills, which I would expect in a Swiss restaurant. We had to wait around 40 minutes between ordering and being served, even though there were only a handful of guests in the restaurant. Furthermore, tables that ordered about 10 minutes after us received their food before we did. We ordered a Coke Zero (0.5 l). However, we were only served a 0.33 l – and even at a higher price than the 0.5 l. The menu lists Coke Zero as a 0.5 l. I would have expected them to ask if I wanted something else instead of simply bringing the smaller and more expensive option. Due to the long wait, the drink was empty long before the food arrived. We weren't asked if we wanted anything else, nor were we offered any kind of compensation for the long wait. We waited for a long time, so we weren't offered a drink. The cordon bleu tasted okay, but it smelled slightly of stale frying oil. It was also overcooked and therefore quite greasy – there was a noticeable amount of grease left on the plate. It was also difficult to see exactly what the filling was. It only came with ketchup, no mayonnaise. When asked if everything was alright, I honestly replied that it was okay. Unfortunately, there was no follow-up or genuine interest in my feedback, making the question seem more like a polite formality.
