Bon service, bonne nourriture. Les salles de bains avaient l'air vraiment vieilles et pas très propres et bien rangées.
NEF !
Normale
The food was excellent! Finally, a proper Wiener Schnitzel made with veal, and my husband had a superb beef entrecote. The children had pizza fresh from the wood-fired oven, which was also delicious. The playground is fantastic, though it could use a little maintenance, but the children had a wonderful time and were able to run around and play to their hearts' content on the large playground with their ride-on cars and other vehicles. The playroom also has a wide variety of toys. The owner kept coming by, and quality is clearly important here. The strawberries 🍓 from the Coupe Romanoff were freshly picked. So, the children, as well as us, will definitely be back. Thank you so much for the wonderful and attentive service. It's only about 10 minutes from Murten by car, so it's definitely worth a visit. The arbor is lovely, even though it's a few degrees cooler outside. We sat on the terrace, which was also nicely lit.
Yesterday, July 4th, 2025, we were at the Biberenbad (under the green roof) and at 6:30 pm we were only the third table with guests. The waitress was friendly and served us immediately, bringing drinks and menus. With four adults and three hungry small children, we were hoping for a quick, delicious pizza from the wood-fired oven outside. The pizzaiolo didn't seem to be there yet, then he came by twice to check on the fire, but then went back into the kitchen. A topped pizza sat outside for a long time, much to the delight of the flies. Our children then wanted to go to the playground, which was completely run-down. Everything was broken and there was a lot of trash lying around. Ladders were broken and screws were sticking out... simply dilapidated and, above all, dangerous!!! After an hour, we still hadn't been able to order our food! The terrace had become quite crowded in the meantime, and other guests seemed to have had a similar experience. We've known the Biberenbad since our childhood... but now it seems to be going downhill. Poor planning and, above all, disorganization. There was also an upside-down parasol on the roof (probably blown up by the wind), plastic tarps carelessly scattered in the corner of the terrace, etc. We left the restaurant without eating. We wanted to pay for the drinks, but they were kindly offered to us free of charge.
The food wasn't very tasty. The pizza wasn't even close to being cooked through (with only about 10 guests). It had plenty of toppings but was completely soggy. The vitello tonnato was really dry, and the fries weren't cooked either. I'd prefer smaller portions of better quality. The only positive thing was that the service was excellent.
