Royal Walk — Wengiboden 1350f, 3823, Wengen, Switzerland

Même par temps couvert, la promenade royale du Männlichen révèle une beauté différente. Brumeux et majestueux. La courte randonnée jusqu'au belvédère en forme de couronne en valait la peine pour la vue panoramique, même si les sommets étaient partiellement cachés derrière les nuages. J'étais content d'avoir porté un bâton de randonnée. Le sentier comportait des sections raides en montée et en descente et le soutien supplémentaire rendait la montée plus confortable. Il y a eu un moment fort inattendu. Un groupe de vaches dévala soudain la pente, surprenant un couple qui se détendait sur un banc. Quelle scène ! (Voir vidéo) J'ai vraiment apprécié cette belle et courte promenade alpine qui a apporté de grandes récompenses, y compris la météo et la faune.

Randonnée relativement facile jusqu'au sommet du Royal Walk. Il faut environ 30 heures pour marcher jusqu'au sommet et la vue depuis le sommet est absolument incroyable et à couper le souffle. Prévoyez suffisamment de temps pour revenir car le service de téléphérique de retour au terminal de Grindelwald se termine vers 17h ou 17h30 pendant la saison hivernale.

Un petit tour en télécabine depuis Wengen (14,50 CHF avec un forfait montagne à 50%) Il y a une marche courte mais raide jusqu'au sommet, mais la vue panoramique est absolument magnifique. L'une des meilleures vues que j'ai vues. Il y a également des terrains de jeux et des restaurants à proximité, ce qui en fait un endroit idéal pour les familles et tous ceux qui souhaitent profiter du paysage.

After a scenic 20-minute cable car ride from Grindelwald Terminal, you arrive at Männlichen, the starting point of the Royal Walk. We went early in the day to catch a good weather window, and it was absolutely worth it—the views were spectacular. Tip: Be sure to check the local Swiss weather apps before you go. If it’s cloudy or raining, you’ll miss what makes this walk so special. Timing it right makes all the difference. While some reviews (especially on AI or Instagram) describe the walk as easy, it’s actually a steep gravel path—short but quite an incline. We saw several tourists, particularly from larger groups, struggling a bit on the way up. That said, it’s still accessible to most people with a bit of fitness. Having hiked a number of peaks in the area, this was a welcome, easier option—a chance to enjoy incredible views without a full mountain trek. From the top, you can create a circular route by taking the next cable car down to Wengen, continuing on to Lauterbrunnen, and returning to Grindelwald Terminal by train via Zweilütschinen. We actually chose to hike the full way down to Lauterbrunnen, which offered even more amazing scenery.

Amazing! Incredible views. The hike to the crown was good and well maintained, loved the little story boards and interactive stations. Good excuse to stop and catch your breath. Can’t say enough about the view from the top. Well worth it, weather permitting.

Did the loop from Lauterbrunnen-Wengen-Mannlichen-Kleine Scheidegg-Lauterbrunnen & doing ‘The Royal Walk’ walking up to the crown at the summit of Mannlichen was the worst bit as there was a swarm of flies awaiting us at the very top which was completely overwhelming so we didn’t hang about & got back down to do the Panoramaweg to Kleine Scheidegg!
