The Greens are socially and ecologically minded, except when it comes to homeownership. They overlook the fact that taxes are already factored into rents and ignore the embodied emissions, even though these are among the largest sources of CO2. A consistent approach would be to advocate for comparable tax revenues from rental and owner-occupied housing, as well as a housing tax that raises awareness about our housing consumption.

When your last possessions are confiscated and the last car with a combustion engine is scrapped , when you spend your vacation in the rainy city park because air travel has been banned, when you sit in the dark in winter because a kWh of green electricity is as expensive as a scoop of ice cream, when you chew muesli bars at Christmas because you all had to become vegetarians and are in bed by 8 on New Year's Eve because fireworks produce nasty particulate matter and have also been banned, you will realize that voting for the Greens was a pretty stupid idea.
