I panorami sono incredibili! 😍…
Questo è un posto fantastico! I recommend it for visitors and the panoramic restaurant there is great! Il treno per arrivarci è piuttosto attraente!
Super 👍👋👋 …
Once a year, Mount Niesen hosts the Niesen Staircase Race, a running competition that involves racing up the stairs that run alongside the funicular. The Niesen Staircase, called the "Niesenlauf," was built in 1910 and is officially listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest in the world, with a whopping 11,674 steps. The staircase is a technical structure built to service the lift, but it is open to athletes once a year by pre-registering on the website. The staircase begins at an altitude of 700 meters and ends at 2,363 meters above sea level, and its length is 1,663 meters. With some simple calculations, we can calculate the height of each step to be approximately 14.25 cm, which is slightly lower than a typical step in an apartment building (approximately 15 cm). The record was set in 2011: 55 minutes 55 seconds. A simple calculation shows that the time to climb one step is ~0.288 seconds. You can practice in your own building, although this staircase doesn't have landings with a change in direction, which makes the climb significantly easier. Happy running, everyone.
The funicular price might deter some, but once you're up there, you quickly forget the cost and enjoy a magnificent view of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau trio. Stunning! 🤩 For the return trip, the wait can be quite long at the end of the day on weekends. I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes. …
