AVOID! AVOID! AVOID IF YOU SLEDGING. I have to agree with other reviews. The sledging experiences are awful. We have paid 182CHF for 4 people. To find out the sledging conditions are more like walking conditions. First you have to walk to the sledging slope good 20min. The sledging slope has such a small gradient you walk it most of the time. It also entwine with skiers and snowboarders. Very dangerous. Also be careful that you take the correct route otherwise you end up in different station call Stockhute. You then have to take buss from there back to Klewentalp. I have lost my child like this. There is nobody who can help to locate them and signal is not great. It takes about 1h to get back from Stockhute to klewenalp....you can imagine my horror. I have contacted the center about it, but of course, they are all innocent in their "bulletproof" (irony here) design. Shame, it could be such a great area for sledging. Just watch for the 9km sledging. This is the one which ends you up in the wrong town. I would recommend ELM ski center, they have much better sledging route, which takes you straight to the cable car, no need to use different types of route to get back to your start.
Very beautiful view, but really expensive
Great place to hike in spring or autumn, or go skiing in winter. I recommend the place for skiing, since it does not tend to get too busy. Prices for ski passes are affordable.
We generally like the resort a lot, but there are a few annoyances: Klewenalp cable car is super slow there are just two cabins probably 40-50 passengers each, running at 20 minute intervals, which creates long queues at peak times. By comparison, Stockhütte cable car feels faster with smaller cabins with <1 minute gaps. Stockhütte also has much better blue runs, great for kids, whereas Klewenalp has good Kinderland (complete beginners) and good reds, plus good food and drink offer. Given that we generally come with a 5-y.o. kid, we could in theory just stay on the Stockhütte side except for the food -- the only restaurant there is good only for drinking and watching the view :( ... which brings me to the last and main point: the two parts are not connected well enough, requiring some walking uphill on the way from Stockhütte to Klewenalp and even more on the way back if one is unwilling to go up to Chälen and go down the long red track, such as when skiing with small children. Also, the short T-bar lift to Twäregg has some downhill bits which are tricky to manage even for adult beginners.
Nice area but many parts that one has to ski uphill or walk.
Epic place in the summer and fall to go for a hike. Far less crowded than other places. Nice place to be with nice mountain panoramic views!
