Cozy chalets with great view. Interiors are new and clean. Personnel is very friendly. Each chalet has a private sauna.
This is our fifth time spending our family ski vacation in Ahorn. It's absolutely perfect for us. While the accommodation isn't exactly cheap, the ski area is family-friendly and offers great value. We appreciate the peace and quiet, find everything we need at the Schwettiberg shop (a 3-minute walk away), reach the Mattwald T-bar lift with access to the ski area in 5 minutes on foot, and ski right to the doorstep in the evenings. Our dog is welcome too – those who stay behind with him can hike to the ski area via the beautiful trails and meet up with the others again for lunch or coffee. It's perfect if the children can already ride the T-bar lift; for families with younger children, the shuttle to the ski area/ski school might be more convenient. In the evenings, we enjoy our private sauna and family time in the tastefully decorated chalet. The caretakers live right next door and are always available for our needs. Unfortunately, the snow conditions have been precarious for the last two years, which is reflected in this year's visitor numbers. The slope conditions are now perfect, and anyone spontaneously looking for a place for their ski holiday will find a little gem here.
Braunwald is a magically beautiful place (car-free), and the Ahorn Chalets are very comfortable and pleasant! The location and the view are stunning, and the proximity to the village shop is very convenient! A stay here is highly recommended!
Braunwald is a magical place in the canton of Glarus. A car-free mountain resort with funicular access at 1300m. The Sytli apartment is located in the upper part of Braunwald on the Schwettiberg (1400m). A spacious 100m² apartment with a large balcony and breathtaking views of the Glarus mountains. Open-plan kitchen with oven and four-burner cooktop, and a huge living room with a beautiful wood-burning stove. Two bedrooms, one with two single beds. One bedroom with a large bathtub and sauna. One minor drawback: a double bed with two 90cm mattresses. Disappointing. A concierge couple is on-site for check-in, check-out, and to provide advice. The complex includes two apartments (with ovens) and four 80m² chalets (without ovens).
High-quality and stylish finishes. Everything is present (except the oven). Everything is very well maintained. Quiet and surrounded by greenery. Recommended for "switching off"!
