First of all, I must say that it's not just a hotel. It's a resort where locals & tourists can visit for hiking and beautiful views of Giessbach falls and Lake Brienz. I love the fact that the trail leads you directly behind the waterfall. It's so cool & refreshing up there. It's totally worth visiting on a sunny or rainy day. There's a café on the terrace, as well as an indoor lounge with a restaurant. Many people were on the terrace enjoying a snack while viewing the waterfall and lake. We walked around the historical rooms and lounge of the hotel. It truly is a step back into the late 19th century. It was also cool to see the Giessbach funicular car traveling up the track from Lake Brienz. It's the oldest abt switch railway design dating back to 1879. Neat! I'd say it's worth a visit for the Nature Park. There are so many different trails that lead you to Iseltwald, Schweibenalp, Axalp, Brienz, and Bramisegg from the park. It's such a scenic drive up there as well. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be when viewing it all from a ferry on Lake Brienz. We enjoyed our visit here. It was peaceful & relaxing.
Amazing view! We went from the hostel so I can't speak about the access really, but the falls are lovely! It was very foggy on our visit but it gave a interesting atmosphere to it all! Don't expect huge falls, it's a cute, high up little river going down towards the lake, very lovely!
Really nice, you pay 10/15 chf to park and then you can see the waterfalls and i really nice hotel, if you walk down you have the beautiful lake, in the summer you can go down with a small train.
Beautiful falls even on a rainy day! Nice hotel with restaurant, great views of the lake, waterfall, and surrounding nature park. Can make it a loop hike going a different path each direction or take the funicular up to the hotel/falls bottom. No tickets needed if walking both ways!
The place and waterfalls are beautiful. It's quite. The waterfall is indeed huge. We can have a nice full view of it from the hotel behind. The parcours is nice, we can see it at different level. You need to pay the parking 15 chef, via an application, you have it on boards just before the entry.
Amazing must see spot when visiting Brienz. Easy to access with public bus and a simple hike on a guided walking trail. Beautiful waterfall
