My landlord had a new electrical outlet installed next to my bed (about 40cm from my old one), and ever since, I've had nothing but problems: no power constantly, and the circuit breaker keeps tripping. They couldn't find anything wrong and for two weeks kept saying that my appliances were probably the culprit. But my appliances worked perfectly fine with all the other outlets without causing any of this. Then they came back and again found nothing wrong, but they reconnected my old outlet. And lo and behold, everything worked perfectly again. So it's quite clear that the new outlet has a problem, but instead of finding and fixing it, they're simply ignoring it, and I have the same outlet as before. It's fine by me, but it's strange that my landlord spent a fair amount of money on an outlet that's only good for decoration. And sometimes they're a bit unfriendly. The landlord said the power would be out until 4 PM, but it would probably be back on before then. At 4:25 PM, still no power, and when you ask the electrician, he says the power will be on when it is, and if you pressure me, it won't be any faster... Okay, thanks, very helpful to give me that kind of answer instead of a rough estimate. I told him I have things in the fridge that are going to break, and the fridge has been off for many hours. It's possible that some fridges can go without power for up to 24 hours before things start to break, but my fridge is older and poorly insulated, so the cold air escapes very quickly without power. It's not the end of the world, but it's just strange when you pay for a power outlet that doesn't work, has a fault, but you just ignore the fault because you can't find it (-; I'm happy that I have the old power outlet that works, which is the main thing, but it's just a very unusual experience.
