Eiger Glacier
3823 Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland, Eigergletscher
You will stop by this station on your way up to Jungfraujoch. I would suggest to get maybe 30mins for you to walk around outside because the views are fantastic. Dont venture out too far because this is also a starting point where people start to ski down.
It’s a lovely walk from Kleinescheidegg up to the gondola station that takes you into Grindelwald. There’s a lovely lake along the way. The glacier is off to the right as you’re walking up the mountain at about 20 to 25% grade. It’s a steep walk but well worth the views. When we went, there was still snow on the ground and it was dark. Going uphill it says it will take you 30 minutes, but it actually took us an hour. We made a few stops along the way for pictures and seeing the sound of music theme song.
It's the transfer station that connects you to the Jungfrau Railway train that runs through the mountain to Jungfraujoch. We took the Eiger Express to get there. The other alternative is by cogwheel train or an hour hike from Kleine Scheidegg. It's another closer view of the area known as the Bernese Alps. You'll get a different perspective depending on how you make that journey up to this station. There is no wrong answer when it comes to transportation, but there is a price difference depending on how fast you want to get there. Keep that in mind. Save some time to walk around and enjoy the fresh air and views before taking the train up to Jungfraujoch. It's so very worth it.
Amazing place with breathtaking views of the Eiger and the Alps, truly unforgettable experience!
First stop here going up Jungfraujoch. A sneak peek of the beauty that is about to come.
A beautiful place. If you're going to Jungfrau, you must spend some time here.
